East Central Florida offer anglers an amazing array of opportunities: visit the world famous Mosquito Lagoon for sight fishing Redfish, explore hundreds of miles of inland rivers with banks often lined with mangroves holding Snook, grass flats with world record Sea Trout and high flying Ladyfish. Enjoy the extraordinary Snook, ocean Redfish and Flounder fishing in the Sebastian Inlet. Offshore find the pelagics via Port Canaveral and Sebastian Inlet. For freshwater anglers the St Johns River is known for the spring run of American Shad, largemouth Bass, specks and catfish and the Stick Marsh is famous for largemouth bass. If your bucket list is catching a huge Yellowfin Tuna or fly-casting for Shad… world records and lifetime memories are made fishing the varied waters of East Central Florida.
When we say “going offshore” to fish: the targeted species are Dolphinfish (Maui-Maui), Yellow and Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Sailfish, Groupers, Snappers, Seabass, Triggerfish, Flounder and Tilefish (to name a few). If those are your targets, check out the Offshore Guides listed below.
Nearshore, often in site of world famous Cocoa Beach, we are catching Cobia, Tripletail, Tarpon, Jacks, Kings (Mackerel), Spanish Mackerel, Flounders, Bluefish, Shark, Snook and ocean Redfish. During the fall ‘mullet’ millions of mullet migrate along the beaches – a veritable smorgasbord for the fish we target. If this is your kind of fishing, check out the Nearshore Guides listed below.
River & Lagoon fishing includes fly & light tackle often sight fishing for tailing Redfish (Red Drum), Spotted Sea Trout, Ladyfish, Snook and Black Drum. Called “rivers”, technically the Indian River Lagoon system is 156-mile
long estuary considered a national treasure. Often during river trips you will see Manatees and Porpoises. If this is your kind of fishing, check out the River & Lagoon Guides listed below.
The FSFA welcome you to enjoy and encourages respect of our home waters. Be safe, tight lines and please safely release those fish you will not use.
