    Guest speaker is Charlie Levine - How to Read Sea Surface Temperature and Chlorophyll Charts

    Charlie Levine is a lifelong angler who grew up fishing in the Northeast and has traveled extensively to chase fish. Charlie earned a degree in English and journalism and has worked at some of the top fishing magazines, including a 10-year stint as senior editor of Marlin Magazine. He is currently the editor and publisher of FishTrack.com and Buoyweather.com and is a contributing writer to several publications

    The annual offshore fishing tournament hosted by the Florida Sport Fishing Association (FSFA) in Cape Canaveral, Florida. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Place prizes are awarded to the 5 largest catches of each of the eligible 5 species. Additional guaranteed prizes include the Big Fish ($5000) and SLAM ($3000).

    • May 31 @ 5:45pm: Captains party at Kiwanis Park, Merritt Island
    • June 1: Tournament & Awards at Sunrise Marina, Port Canaveral

    Big Fish

    Eligible Species: Dolphin, Wahoo, Kingfish, Grouper (Gray or Red, No Warsaw). There is $5,000 guaranteed payout for the LARGEST (by weight) Fish. The Big Fish will win the big fish bonus and will be excluded from the General awards. The Big Fish can be one of the 3 species to be calculated for the Slam.

    General SLAM

    Eligible species Dolphin, Wahoo, Kingfish, Grouper. Greatest weight of 3 fish of 3 different species. There is a $3000 guaranteed payout for the Heaviest Combination Weight of a 3 Species Slam.

    Bonus Fish

    One Entry per boat allowed in either (or both) species. There is $1350 total in guaranteed payout for the Bonus Species. $625 for heaviest Cobia, $625 for heaviest Amberjack (AJ).

    Ladies

    Recognition Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place. A fish declared and tagged as a Ladies Fish may be entered in General Division – however when doing so it is the ONLY species that is entered by the boat team. That fish is thus eligible to win in both General Cash Prize and Ladies Recognition. Eligible Species: Dolphin, Wahoo, Kingfish, Grouper (Gray or Red, No Warsaw).

    Juniors

    Recognition Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place. A fish declared and tagged as a Junior Fish may be entered in General Division – however when doing so it is the ONLY species that is entered by the boat team. That fish is thus eligible to win in both General Cash Prize and Junior Recognition. Eligible Species: Dolphin, Wahoo, Kingfish, Grouper (Gray or Red, No Warsaw).

    Individual Species

    1st through 5th – largest of each eligible species. Any angler can enter fish in this general category regardless of gender or age. A fish declared and tagged at the weigh in dock as Ladies or Junior may also be entered in the appropriate (Ladies / Junior) category. Species prizes each are:

    • 1st – $1,250
    • 2nd – $750
    • 3rd – $500
    • 4th – $300
    • 5th – $200
